Established in October 2015, the Institute of Economics and Finance (IEF) at Nanjing Audit University is a specialized research institution dedicated to innovating talent cultivation and scientific research in its field. In collaboration with the University of Birmingham—a partnership officially approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education—the IEF offers an “Economics (Sino-UK Credit Transfer Joint Program).” This program features a co-designed curriculum, mutual credit transfer, and dual degree awards. It aims to produce interdisciplinary professionals with a solid grounding in economic theory, specialized knowledge in financial technology and mathematical statistics, and a global perspective that integrates local cultural identity with international competence.

The IEF’s academic mission is to achieve international recognition and become a leading think tank in Eastern China and nationwide. It has established specialized research centers, such as the “Survey and Research Center for China Local Governance,” to conduct major research projects. The institute also regularly hosts international academic seminars and forums, inviting renowned scholars from around the world to present their latest findings.
