Nanjing Audit University (NAU) is the only full-time regular university in China named after “Audit” and one of the birthplaces of higher education in the field of auditing in China. It was established because of audit, exists for audit, thrives by audit and becomes strong through audit.


Founded in 1983, Nanjing Audit University (NAU) achieved a significant milestone in 2011 by becoming a university co-established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the National Audit Office, and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It adopted its current name in 2015 and was designated as a doctoral degree-granting institution in 2021. In July 2023, President Xi Jinping replied to the international students of the Master of Auditing program at NAU.

Disciplines and Specialties : NAU has established a distinctive academic framework branded by Auditing and supported by the synergistic development of Economics, Management, Law, Engineering, Literature, and Science. It offers 44 undergraduate programs, more than half of which are recognized as national or provincial first-class programs. With a comprehensive talent development system spanning bachelor's to doctoral levels, the university has multiple disciplines designated as key or priority disciplines in Jiangsu Province, and its leading disciplines like Auditing and Statistics demonstrated outstanding performance in the latest disciplinary assessment by the Ministry of Education.


Faculty and scale: The school currently has nearly 20,000 full-time students and over 1,200 full-time teachers. It has two campuses, namely Pukou and Mochou.


Research and Services: NAU has several provincial and ministerial-level key research bases and laboratories, including the “Modern Audit Development Research Center” and “Financial Engineering”. NAU actively participates in the construction of national audit policies and regulations. The international standard for audit data collection (ISO/PC 295) in which NAU participated has become the first international standard in the field of audit in ISO. In recent years, it has undertaken a number of major national scientific research projects and won many provincial and ministerial-level awards or above, including the First Prize of Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education.


International Cooperation: The school is the only member of the “Internal Audit Academic Alliance” (IAAA) - Center for Excellence in Asia recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and maintains a Platinum-level cooperation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. As the host of the Chinese Government Audit Scholarship program, NAU aims to cultivate master's degree audit talents for the countries along the “Belt and Road”. Jointly established the International Joint Audit College with SKEMA Business School in France. Over the years, the school has dispatched teachers to carry out more than a hundred UN auditing tasks and has maintained extensive and in-depth cooperation with international auditing organizations and the highest auditing authorities of many countries.


At present, the goal of NAU is to build a high-level university with distinct auditing characteristics, and all the teachers and students are striving for this.
