Selection Regulations for the “Auditor-General Scholarship” for International Students (Trial Version)
To further standardize the education management and evaluation system for international students and ensure a fair and objective selection process for the “Auditor-General Scholarship” for international students of the Master of AuditingProgram, these regulations are formulated based on the Nanjing Audit University “Auditor-General Scholarship” Selection Regulations and the real situations of the international students in the program.
Applicants for the “Auditor-General Scholarship” must meet the following criteria:
1. They should comply with Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules; uphold social order and maintain campus security and stability; respect Chinese culture and customs, and actively integrate themselves into a multicultural environment; demonstrate good moral character, honesty, and friendliness; stay away fromplagiarism or misconducts; advocate for peace and oppose violence, terrorism, and extremist ideas;possess a positive attitude and correct values and embrace fairness and justice; andshow concern for international affairs and be willing to promote international communication and exchange as well as the friendship among different nations.
2. The grade point average (GPA) of the applicants must rank in the top 30% of peers. Those who do not meet this threshold but excel in other aspects can also apply.
3. They should pass the HSK exam (Level 3) by the time of application.
4. They should not fail in any of the compulsory courses by the time of application.
II. Comprehensive Evaluation
The comprehensive evaluation score consists of: Research and Academic Ability Points + Daily Performance Points + Bonus Points – Penalty Points. The interview shortlist will be determined by the ranking of the final scores according to a 1:2 ratio of the quota.
1. Research and Academic Ability
The “Auditor-General Scholarship” applicants should possess outstanding research and academic ability, which will be evaluated from the following four dimensions:
(1) Academic Performance: The academic performance is based on GPA and is calculated as (GPA/5)*100. If the GPA of the applicant ranks below top 30% of peers, it has to be discounted by 20% to indicate that the applicant excels in other aspects.
(2) Research Capability: 2 bonus points for each research paper published in journals as the first author with Nanjing Audit University as primary affiliation. If the paper is jointly published with the supervisor, the applicant needs to be the sole author except the supervisor. The cumulative cap for research capability is 10 points.
(3) Advisor Evaluation: the supervisor will score the applicants within the range from 1 to 10 (integer).
(4) Academic Awards: if the applicants win awards in academic competitions or research competitions, 0.5 bonus points for each university level 3rd prize or above (1st author), 2 bonus points for each provincial level 3rd prize or above (top 3 overseas authors), 5 bonus points for each national level 3rd prize or above (top 5 overseas authors). The cumulative cap for academic awards is 10 points.
The total of the above four dimensions will make up the Academic and Research Ability Points.
2. Daily Performance
The “Auditor-General Scholarship” applicants should have outstanding daily performance, which will be evaluated from the following two dimensions:
(1) Management Body Evaluation: School of International Students (SIS), as the management body of the international students, will score the applicants within the range from 1 to 10 (integer).
(2) Peer Evaluation: the peers will score the applicants within the range from 1 to 10 (integer). The average score rounded to 2 decimal places will taken as the final score for peer evaluation.
The total of the above two dimensions will make up the Daily Performance Points.
3. Bonus Points
(1) 1 bonus point will be given to the current class coordinators as acknowledgement to their contribution to the whole group.
(2) 0.1 bonus points will be given to the students who do volunteer work for SIS each time, the cumulative cap being 1 point.
(3) 0.2 bonus points will be given to the students each time they publish an article on the official WeChat account of SIS, the cumulative cap being 1 point.
(4) 0.2 bonus points will be given for each participation in performances of the university level, or each prize-winning in sports competitions (excluding fun games), or other similar activities that are considered valid, the cumulative cap being 1 point.
(5) 1 bonus point will be given for passing HSK exam (Level 4 or higher) during the program period.
4. Penalty Points
(1) 0.5 penalty points will be deducted for each unauthorized leave from Nanjing.
(2) 0.2 penalty points will be deducted for each day of late return at the beginning of each semester when the number of days of late return goes beyond 3. Returning more than two weeks late will lead to disqualification of the scholarship.
(3) 0.2 penalty points will be deducted for each complaints about making noise after 10 p.m., or use of prohibited high-power appliance use, or other violations.
III. Interview
SIS will organize an interview towards the shortlisted candidates for the “Auditor-General Scholarship”. The three interviews invited will score the shortlisted candidates within the range from 1 to 20 (integer). The average score rounded to 2 decimal places will be taken as the final score for the interview.
IV. Final Selection
The award list is determined by the ranking of the total of the comprehensive evaluation score and interview score based on the given scholarship quota. The award list will be publicly announced on the official website of SIS for supervision for at least 3 weekdays before submission to the relevant department of the University.
V. Supplementary Provisions
These regulations take effect immediately upon issuance. SIS reserves the right of final interpretation of these regulations.
