In October 2025, Nanjing Audit University had the honor of inviting Dr. Gurry, former Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to deliver a captivating lecture titled “Current Developments in the International Governance of Innovation and Technology”. The lecture was presided over by Vice President Li Qianwen.
Drawing on his extensive experience in international organization governance, Dr. Gurry provided an in-depth analysis of contemporary challenges and opportunities in global technology governance. Addressing issues ranging from AI ethics and standard-setting to technology transfer and equitable benefit mechanisms in the Pandemic Treaty, and further to global R&D investment disparities and the technological divide, his presentation offered both pragmatic insights and forward-thinking perspectives.
