Auditing Department, one of the pioneers for the higher education in auditing in China, is the oldest as well as the most important department of NAU with a history back to 1987 when the auditing major was initiated. Currently, it is mainly working on disciplinary construction of auditing and relevant scientific research, cultivating auditing bachelors and masters in audit practice and theory, and international exchange and cooperation in the filed of auditing, etc.
The Auditing major is identified as a Class A featured major by the Ministry of Education and brand major in Jiangsu Province, entitled to grant Master’s Degree in 2011. In 2009, the Business Management Subject was also granted the authority to confer Master’s Degree.
The Auditing Department has a strong faculty of 20 qualified teachers, of whom 4 are professors and 7 associate professors, and most of them are members of China Auditing Society, experienced in both theoretical study and audit practice. Now there are currently 15 courses available for bachelor’s and master’s degrees respectively, namely audit principles, government audit, audit and certification, audit rules and regulations, environment audit, etc. for undergraduates, as well as for postgraduates national audit and national governance (bilingual), modern audit technologies and methods (bilingual), and audit management, to name just a few.
