School of International Auditing, NAU
The school of International Auditing of NAU consists of four Departments (Auditing Dept., International Auditing Dept., Internal Auditing Dept., and Engineering Management Dept.) and four majors (Auditing, ACCA-Oriented Auditing, IAEP-Oriented Auditing, and Engineering Management, i.e. Engineering-Oriented Auditing). In terms of research, the School has two research centers (Jiangsu Modern Auditing Development Research Center and China Internal Auditing Development Research Center) and one key laboratory (Jiangsu Key Laboratory on Public Project Auditing). Besides, the School has two educational centers, Auditing Masters Education Center (MAUD center) and International Certified Accountants Education Center (ACCA center).
Auditing is a level-A major granted by the Ministry of Education, a pilot major for the synthetic disciplinary reform sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and a provincial exemplary major, etc. Auditing science and technology is the provincial preponderant discipline. And NAU is one of the first institutes or universities who acquired the granting rights of auditing master degree.
The School of International Auditing has 81 teachers and staff, among whom 62 are professional teachers including 12 professors and 24 associate professors. Several teachers receive the State Council special allowances and are entitled with different honors. Four of them serve as the standing councils of China Audit Society and Jiangsu Audit Society, and three of them are experts of IIA.
After thirty years of development, the School has established five research orientations: national governance and national audit, organization governance and internal auditing, auditing of capital market and certified accountants, fixed asset investment auditing, and auditing methodology. In the past five years, focusing on the five orientations, the School has undertaken 12 state- and ministry-level research programs and has published more than 300 papers in nationally or internationally influential periodicals.
ACCA-oriented auditing and IAEP-oriented auditing are the two exemplary projects of NAU. The IAEP project (internal auditing education project) of NAU is approved by International Internal Auditors (IIA) as the only institute in China that is recognized in the sector of international internal auditing education. The School is also awarded as a university which outputs the greatest number of ACCA talents for its high passing rate of ACCA.
The employment rate for graduates has always kept above 97%. Students are mostly engaged in auditing system, financial system, other economic supervision government organs, four biggest accounting firms, or other enterprises. Our graduates are well received in society, and enjoy high reputation for their professionalism and commitment. Every year many graduates are enrolled in famous universities for their master’s degrees.
The School adheres to the teaching philosophy of “distinguishing features, quality, and internationalization”, striving to build up its discipline construction in order to achieve NAU’s mission to be an internationally influential audit university.
