ASOSAI-Sponsored Workshop on Financial Audit in an IT Environment Held in NAU

From June 6th to June 20th, the ASOSAI-sponsored workshop on financial audit in an IT environment was held in NAU. 42 auditors from South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Bhutan and other 33 Asian countries participated in the 12-day training.
The ASOSAI training workshop provides an important opportunity to help improve the capability of intermediate and junior auditors of its member states. Since 1992, it has held several sessions and covered a wide range of themes including financial audit, IT audit, anti-corruption and fraud, performance audit, privatization audit, environmental audit, debt audit, etc.
During 12 days’ training, the professors introduced the experience and practice of SAIs in carrying out financial audit in an IT environment. The participatory teaching methods were adopted to enable participants to more actively involve themselves in classes and exchange ideas, knowledge and experience.
After the workshop ended, Nagawa Tokohiko, the auditor general of Japanese Audit Office, who is in charge of the training programs of ASOSAI, sent a letter to express his appreciation of the efforts and contributions made by NAU. CNAO also spoke highly of the productive work of NAU, especially the devotion of student volunteers as well as the excellent catering and reception.
