NAU's Internationalization Commended for Various Achievements

On the "Seminar on Jiangsu Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts Work 2013" held on December 27, 2013, Nanjing Audit University was awarded "Advanced Unit for the Work of Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts 2013". Among the over 160 institutions that are qualified to hire foreign cultural and educational experts, only 27 were named.

 

In 2013, altogether 52 foreigners from around the world, such as the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, etc. are hired as long-term or short-term teachers in NAU. Among them are professors from world prestigious universities, namely Prof. Myron Scholes, Nobel Laureate for Economics, Dr.Heinz Mayer, Dean of the Law Faculty of University of Vienna, and Dr. Zhao Suisheng, expert on Sino-U.S. relations and tenured professor at Denver University. They not only brought various academic feasts to the faculty and students, but enriched international atmosphere on campus as well.

 

In 2013, the work of international students has also witnessed big progress. The number of international students on campus exceeded 100 for the first time, with a year-on-year growth of 93.33%. The students came from 14 countries, including Morocco, Liberia, Indonesia, Italy and South Africa. Due to the growing supply of English instructured courses, the numbers of degree students and exchange students witnessed substantial increases, amounting to 27% and 50% respectively.

 

On the "Seminar on Education and Administration of International Students in Jiangsu2013", NAU was highly praised by the provincial leaders and one of our staff was cited as "Jiangsu Advanced Individual of Education and Administration of International Students".

 

We've also made great progress regarding Chinese students studying abroad. In 2013, altogether 461 students went abroad for study or social practice through diverse channels, increasing by 13.6%, also hitting a historical high level. On the recently held "Annual Meeting of the Council on Jiangsu International Educational Exchange and the 4th Governing Board Meeting", NAU was awarded "Jiangsu Advanced Unit of International Educational Cooperation and Exchange", and was elected as member of the board.
